What a veneer actually is.
A veneer is a thin, custom made shell bonded to the front of a tooth. It changes the shape, size, shade and alignment of what people see, without replacing the whole tooth. There are two main ways to do it, and the right one for you depends on your teeth and what you want to change.
Porcelain veneers
Individually made in a lab, then bonded to your teeth.
- Shaped and shaded before they ever go on, so the design is agreed first
- Porcelain holds its colour well and resists everyday staining
- Usually more than one appointment: scan and design, then fit
- Made here in New Zealand, not sent offshore
Composite veneers
Built up directly onto your teeth in the chair, by hand.
